How It Works
Book coaching is a combination of encouragement, discussion, instruction, and editorial feedback. As your book coach, I work closely with you to help you achieve your writing goals.
I specialize in manuscript coaching for memoir and prescriptive nonfiction. I am a high-touch coach, passionate about helping shape difficult stories that require emotional and creative energy.
I also love working on women's fiction that portrays challenging life experiences and personal growth. Whatever the genre, I provide creative editorial solutions and a step-by-step plan to share your story in the most authentic and powerful way.

Book Coaching Packages & Rates
Writing a book is a deeply individual process; however, having an accountability partner through personalized one-on-one coaching can be a lifesaver, especially when trouble-shooting problematic areas. I will help illuminate what you want to say and ensure you say it with clarity, purpose, and authenticity. I'll guide you through a step-by-step process to ensure you have a strong foundation and help build on this structure. Through our intense work together, we will locate the soul of your story so you can write forward in a clear and compelling way.

I can work with you at any stage of your project and keep you on track to finish strong. I meet you where you are and forumulate a plan to help you thrive throughout the process. Together, we’ll devise a strategy that includes a schedule for assignments, individualized feedback, and guidance on craft and revision. I’ll provide you with encouragement and accountability every step of the way.

Introductory Package
In an assessment of your first few chapters (up to 30 pages) of your manuscript, I help refine your vision for your memoir or novel. I review story elements, summarize strengths, and identify areas for improvement in an editorial feedback letter. I’ll make recommendations for next steps and provide a clear plan to achieve your goals.
Together, we will review my editorial feedback via a 45-minute phone or virtual meeting.

Rate: $300
Memoir Accelerator
Whether you have an idea or the beginning of a draft, I will customize a plan to bring your memoir to life. We will work through Author Accelerator's proven Blueprint for a Memoir to develop a strong foundation and then build on that during revision. I will provide detailed feedback and suggest next steps on everything from structure and tone to scene development and narrative drive.
Over the course of five or ten deadlines, you’ll submit revised or new content and I’ll provide an editorial letter and in-line comments on each submission. We will establish mutually agreed-upon deadlines and meet after each deadline to discuss feedback and next steps.
Packages Vary: $1,500 and up
Manuscript Assessment
A manuscript assessment is a big-picture assessment of your book and is a recommended first step if you've already completed a full draft.
I provide comprehensive editorial feedback that addresses your book’s strengths and weaknesses, structure, plot development, characterization, dialogue, tone, clarity, cohesiveness, delivery, and style.
I focus on the broad strokes and provide concrete ideas and tangible craft advice for how to improve your story. In my editorial letter, I offer guidance and next steps for revision as well as constructive ways to improve a project’s marketability.
Rate: $1,500 for first 250 pages, $5 per additional page.
Developmental Edit
Developmental editing is a thorough big-picture edit of your book that includes a written critique and extensive margin notes. I provide a full editorial assessment and comprehensive 10-page editorial feedback letter that addresses the strengths and weaknesses of your book, any structural issues, its marketability, and everything in the Manuscript Assessment package above.
I provide extensive feedback and suggestions through annotated notes in the margins of your manuscript
including tangible solutions and coaching on craft.
Rate: $2500 for first 250 pages: $8 per additional page.
